Tasty Poha Recipe | How to Cook Poha at Home 2023

Poha is a popular Indian breakfast dish made with flattened rice flakes. Here is a simple recipe to make it:

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup poha (flattened rice)
  2. 1 small onion, finely chopped
  3. 1 small potato, peeled and diced
  4. 1 green chili, chopped
  5. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  6. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  7. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  8. 1/4 tsp red chili powder
  9. Salt to taste
  10. 1 tbsp oil
  11. A few curry leaves
  12. Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
  13. Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  • Rinse the poha in a strainer and soak in water for 2-3 minutes.
  • Drain the water and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves.
  • Once the seeds start crackling, add chopped onion, green chili and sauté until onions turn translucent.
  • Add diced potato and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt to the pan and mix well.
  • Now add soaked poha and mix gently.
  • Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes on low heat.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon wedges.
